Real World is the original Reality TV show. The show focuses on seven young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 living in a shared house for five months. The contestants on the show are referred to as housemates and are forced to have a job together. This helps create tension for the show as it creates forced situations that can be contrived. Additionally, the show also features the housemates going out to parties on a very regular basis.
The show has a demanding casting schedule as the cameras are running 24/7 for five months. This requires that any person living on the show put their regular life on pause while they transplant their life.
One of the best tips for getting cast on Real World is to have an interesting story. The show really wants to view the world from a unique perspective so you have a far better chance of being cast if you have something unique. Whether that means being from a strict LDS background like Julie, being one of the first people with AIDs like Pedro or a transgender like Katelynn. When you apply, you need to illustrate why you would bring an interesting perspective on the experience that would help keep the show fresh after more than 20 seasons on air.
Applicant Restrictions:
