Brother vs Brother is a spin-off of the popular HGTV show “Property Brothers”. The show is produced by Cineflex and stars Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott who are real life siblings. The two have been in the real estate business for more than 15 years, and their shows play off the rivalry between the realtor and contractor. The show is a season long elimination show in which each week one of the contestants is sent home. In each episode, the home renovators are challenged with fixing up a house, and the team which adds the least amount of value to the house loses a member.
Applicant Restrictions:
- Must Over 18 Years Old
- Must Not Be Employed by HGTV
- Must Not have appeared on a Nationally Televised Design Show
- Must Be Eligible to Work in United States
Casting Calls – Date & Location
This show has one of the more in depth application processes for the home restoration shows. The shows require:
– Two Recent Photos
– Six Work Samples (Can be portfolio or links on a webiste)
– Signed Release and Waiver
– Current Resume
– Proof of Eligibility to Work in US (Passport, driver license, etc)
The show has two methods of applying the first is to attend an open live casting call. For the 2014 season there were casting calls in Austin, Chicago, San Diego, New York, and Charlotte. Each casting call was only for three hours from 10am to 1pm local time. The last casting call for season 2 occurred on October 19, 2013.
The show also has an online application that requires creating a three minute video and sending that along with the information above to brothervsbrother@jenscasting.com . To be eligible for the second season, all videos need to be received by November 8, 2013.
