This show also has the most advanced online casting model that I’ve seen for any show. The form has three parts the first is to get your biographical information. The second part is the contact data, and the third is the uploading of a video which can either be a file sent to the show or a link to a YouTube video. I greatly prefer the latter as you will retain control of updating the video even after submission.

Finally, if you applied to be on this show, we’d love to hear your story whether or not you were selected to appear on air. Feel free to click the link below to share your story with us and our readers.

Hell’s Kitchen – Casting Guide

Contestants: 16 per season
Top Prize: Executive Chef at a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant
Selectivity: 5 Star

Hell’s Kitchen is the most popular season long elimination cooking show. The show appears on the Fox Network in the summers with casting each spring. Thee show is famous for having Gordon Ramsay yell at the contestants, and the tension creates a lot of drama among the casts. The show requires the contestants to perform a variety of cooking related challenges, and each one show ends with a dinner session and someone going home.

This show is not for the timid. The filming and cooking require significant stamina, and there is constant tension as everyone lives in the same house meaning there is no down time. The one major perk of being on this show is that it can really boost the career of aspiring chefs.

Utopia – Casting Guide

Utopia Reality Show Logo
Contestants: 27 per season
Top Prize: $0
Selectivity: 4 Star

Utopia is a reality show that will appear on the Fox network starting the fall of 2014. The show will begin with 15 contestants who have already been picked and follow them 24 hours / 7 days a week while they create a new society. Any person may be exiled which will remove them from the community if they are being non-productive or harmful to the group. This is less a game show and more a social commentary about how groups of people will work together to thrive. As people are exiled and society grows, additional contestants will be added to the group. Presently, the producers are seeking 12 more people to join the group.

This reality show is likely to receive a huge amount of media attention. Participating would be a great method of either become an expert in your field if that’s what you do in the community or lead to writing/speaking engagements based on the experience. This type of show originally premiered in the Netherlands, and it has some heavy talent at the products. I expected season two and beyond of this show to immediately jump to becoming one of the more competitive shows to be cast near the top of 5 in selectivity.

Applicant Restrictions:
  • Must be 21+ Years Old
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must not be a felon

This show had 15 casting calls throughout the US, but they have all closed. The last casting call was in May; however, the application process is still open for online submissions. If you would like to apply online for the show, you will need to upload a 3 minute video describing yourself and why you’d like to be on the show, and complete the Utopia Casting Form.
